BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -

A Brentwood man was arrested Sunday on multiple charges after he allegedly burglarized one pharmacy and robbed another.

Police report Robert Garrett, 41, was apprehended by a K9 after a short chase Sunday just after 7:30 a.m.

Officers received a call of a robbery in progress at the CVS located at 4709 Nolensville Pike and saw the robber flee as they arrived.

Police followed the vehicle to McMurray Drive where they lost sight of it.  Authorities then swarmed the area and a citizen spotted the getaway vehicle.

Garrett was taken into custody on Parishwood Court by an officer and his K9.  Police stated a loaded shotgun was recovered from his vehicle, as well as bottles of pills.

Thousands of prescriptions pills were recovered.

According to reports, Garrett admitted to the CVS robbery during an interview as well as two additional pharmacy burglaries, one of which occurred just hours prior at 4:30 a.m. at a Walgreens.

He was charged with aggravated robbery, burglary, felony drug possession, felony theft and vandalism.

The vandalism charge stems from the Walgreens burglary during which Garrett reportedly knocked out a front door in order to gain access to the business.

Garrett's bond was set at$77,000.
