CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

Clarksville police arrested a man Friday they believe stole 28 parking meters and took the change.

According to a police report, Mark Mosley, 43, admitted to stealing several downtown meters.

Police told News 2 the thefts occurred over the past month and a half.

Surveillance photos taken from City Hall showed a man, now identified as Mosley, kicking over the meters, pulling them from the ground and taking them with him.

Police believe Mosley took the meters and smashed them to get the coins inside.

Clarksville Parking Director David Smith told News 2 there is no way of knowing exactly how much was in the meters.

According to the police report, Lt. Liane Wilson recognized Mosley from the photos.

Mosley, a Clarksville resident, was transported and booked at the Montgomery County jail.
