Mountain City, TN (WJHL) -

A Mountain City couple faces methamphetamine charges stemming from an investigation into the production of the drug, according to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Mike Reece said in a news release that Michelle Renee Roberts, 42, and Ronnie Harrison Malone, 48, both of 426 Furnace Creek Road, Mountain City, were charged after their home was searched.

Both were charged with initiation of the process to manufacture methamphetamine, promotion of the manufacturing of methamphetamine, possession of legend drugs without a prescription and maintaining a dwelling for the purpose to manufacture meth.

She was being held in the Johnson County Jail on $91,500 bond.

Roberts was charged additionally with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Roberts was being held on $91,500 in the Johnson County Jail.

Malone was being held on $90,000 bond.

The Tennessee Methamphetamine Task Force and a local fire department helped clean up the scene.

Both Malone and Roberts were scheduled to be in court April 9.

More charges are pending.
