EVANSVILLE, Ind. -

A fugitive accused of shooting at a Montgomery County sheriff's deputy was arrested Saturday night in Indiana.

Jacob Hammond, 22, and his accomplice, Amber Lehman, 29, were taken into custody around 10 p.m. outside of a motel in Evansville.

Police reported a deputy was attempting to initiate a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon on the pickup truck Hammond was driving when he fired one shot at the deputy.

The truck was later found by detectives who learned it had been reported stolen four days prior to the incident in Stewart County.

Hammond's whereabouts remained unknown, but it was believed he was with Lehman.

The duo was finally arrested Saturday in Indiana with another man, Jonathan Buckner.

Authorities reported all three were in possession of firearms and ingredients to make meth.

During their apprehension, Hammond allegedly tried to escape.  A K9 ultimately caught him.  He was treated at the hospital for his injuries prior to being taken to jail.

Hammond, Lehman and Buckner were booked into the Vanderburgh County jail in Indiana.

Hammond faces additional charges in Indiana for conspiracy to manufacture meth and possession of a firearm.  Once handled, he will be extradited to Tennessee where he will face charges of attempted criminal homicide, felony evading and theft of property.

Lehman had a previous warrant out for violation of probation and a court ordered capias for several drug offenses.

Buckner was charged with conspiracy to manufacture meth and assisting a criminal.

While the trio was arrested in Indiana, a fourth man, believed to be an accomplice, was arrested in Clarksville.

Howard Hand is allegedly a known acquaintance of both Hammond and Lehman, and detectives believed he was accompanying them.

Officials say he was also wanted after fleeing drug task force agents.  He was booked into the Montgomery County jail on outstanding meth and evasion charges.
