GALLATIN, Tenn. -

After News 2 This Morning asked viewers to nominate a teacher to surprise on Valentine's Day, a Gallatin woman got quite the surprise last Friday morning.

Phyllis Clinard teaches fourth grade at Howard Elementary School in Gallatin.

Parents who wrote in about Clinard noted that she is selfless and always gives love to her students, so they wanted to help spread the love to her.

She was surprised with a bouquet of red roses and tickets to the Nashville Symphony.

"Oh, my husband and I were wanting to go to the Symphony! That is unreal," Clinard said. "You guys, I don't believe it!"

Parents also noted Clinard's strong dedication to her students and classrooms in their nomination messages.

She lost her daughter in a car accident last month on Vietnam Veterans Parkway, but she returned to the classroom the following day due to her dedication and passion for her job.
