3 apartments burglarized at Franklin complex

FRANKLIN, Tenn. -

The Franklin Police Department is investigating after three burglaries occurred Tuesday at the same apartment complex.

Authorities stated suspects pried open doors around 11 a.m. at Viera of Cool Springs on North Royal Oaks Boulevard.

In all three burglaries, the suspects stole valuables such as televisions and laptop computers.

During one of the crimes, resident Jagrudi Gondaily was home and screamed, causing the suspects who had forced their way into her apartment to flee.

"I was taking a shower, and then someone knocked on my door," Gondaily said. "Immediately, I heard the noise. Within two minutes, I heard them open the door and they are inside the home. They tried to open the bathroom door."

Gondaily told News 2 she and her husband have only lived at the complex for about seven months.

Police believe the males fled the scene in a gold 2005 to 2009 Chevrolet Impala.

Franklin police are urging apartment residents to be vigilant and immediately report suspicious people or activity by calling 615-794-2513 or, in an emergency, 911.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
