Predators GM David Poile looks to return to work this week

Nashville Predators General Manager David Poile could return to work this week after getting hit in the face with a hockey puck earlier this month in Minnesota.

Poile was struck by an errant puck during the Predators pregame skate at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota on the morning of February 6.

He underwent two surgeries at Regions Hospital in St. Paul before returning to his Nashville home three days later.

Last Friday, February 14, Poile underwent a third eye-related procedure at Vanderbilt Medical University Medical Center.

According to the team, Poile suffered a fractured orbital bone and fractures in his nose.  He is wearing and will continue to wear a patch over his injured eye.
The Predators said Poile, who is also the general manager of the U.S. Olympic men's hockey team, is expected to return to his Nashville office this week.

"I know that I have a challenging road ahead, but am going to embrace the challenge and am eager to get back to work," Poile said in statement released Tuesday morning.
The Predators said there is no specific timetable for Poile's recovery.

His injury prevented him from traveling to Sochi for the Olympic Games.
