A man and his wife were arrested this month following a grand jury indictment charging them with operating an unlicensed dental practice in Tullahoma, Tennessee. It follows a similar arrest of the couple earlier this year in Columbia. Michael Richardson, 55, and his wife, Lana, operated Amazing Smiles Dental and Denture Care on North Jackson Street last March and April before moving their business to Columbia. At that time, authorities began investigating the Richardsons after receiving numerous tips from the community. The practice was shutdown in mid-April after Columbia police learned they were operating without a license. At the time, the front door of the practice in Columbia said "Dr. Roberts DDS and Associates."Brenda Burns of Petersburg, Tennessee told News 2 she went to Amazing Smiles in Columbia after seeing an ad for the practice. Burns said she had problems with the $350 dentures purchased at Amazing Smiles."I called them at Amazing Smiles back two or three times and Lana kept telling me give it more time, more time, it was swelling, it was this and it was that, never would see me," Burns added. The former patient said she eventually had the dentures replaced by an oral surgeon. Richardson was arrested February 11 in Coffee County for impersonating a licensed professional. He was booked into the Coffee County jail and was released on $30,000 bond the same day as his arrest. Lana Richardson, 52, is also charged with impersonating a licensed professional in Coffee County. She was arrested February 5 and also released on a $30,000 dollar bond. Columbia Police Lt.
