NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Just in time for Valentine's Day, a new flower shop, The Petal Push, has opened its doors.

The shop allows customers to not only preorder arrangements, but create a one of a kind piece on their own.

For 35 years, the building near Old Hickory Boulevard and Nolensville Pike housed dancers, but now the dance teacher is designing flower arrangements.

"They just make me smile and that's what they do to people that come to get them, they smile kind of like my dancers used to smile," owner Cathy Turner told News 2.

From dance costumes to flowers, Turner says it was an easy transition.

"I'll even put a little rhinestone bling. I've been known to even put a tutu around some of the roses," Turner laughed.

With more than 1,000 flowers on hand, The Petal Push has a variety of flowers to compliment any occasion.

Customers can buy single stem or by the bunch, as well as pick their wire, rope, ribbon and oasis to create a custom piece for your loved one at one of the several work stations.  Professionals are on hand to offer advice.

Turner recently opened The Petal Push to compliment her wedding rental company, Exquisite Events.

"We do weddings and, you know, that's like a mini recital. It comes on and it's beautiful, there's the bride and she's the show and then you know it's over and then we get to maybe do another one," Turner explained.

This is her first Valentine's Day open to the public, but Turner says she is ready to push the petals.

The first 100 customers on Valentine's Day will get a free rose.  For more information visit, thepetalpush.com.
