KALAMAZOO, Mich. -

A Facebook page created by a Michigan mother asking for people to send her young son birthday wishes has gone viral.

Mother Jennifer created the Facebook page earlier this month after her 10-year-old son Colin said he didn't want a birthday party because he didn't have any friends to invite.

Colin, who turns 11 on March 9, has a condition similar to Asperger's syndrome that causes him to struggle with facial expressions and verbal cues, ABC News reported.

On February 2, Jennifer took to the social media site writing, "I thought if I could create a page where people could send him positive thoughts and encouraging words that would be better than any birthday party. Please join me in making my very original son feel special on his day."

In addition to the Facebook page, Jennifer purchased a P.O. box after she said hundreds of people asked if they could send Colin a birthday card.

"I'm so completely overwhelmed. A woman today sent me $200 on PayPal to take him to dinner and I heard from someone with the Corvette industry who said they're going to send a car to take Colin to school the day after his birthday," she told ABC News.

Jennifer added the hardest thing so far is keeping the Facebook page a secret from Colin who has caught her crying from reading some of the kind messages to her son.

"I've been reading and catching up with all of the posts, messages and comments on this page, all the love and support is causing me to just cry, and Colin keeps asking me, ‘Are you okay mom, what's wrong?'" she said.

The Happy Birthday, Colin Facebook page has more than one million likes.
