Snow expected in parts of Middle Tenn. Wednesday

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain has been reported across parts of Middle Tennessee through midday on Wednesday.

Early afternoon temperatures were in the middle 30s, but were expected to drop back down to the low 30s by late afternoon. A light accumulation of snow is still possible between late afternoon and early evening around the Nashville area and other parts of Middle Tennessee.

Southern and eastern parts of Middle Tennessee can still expect an accumulating snow, around 1" in some spots, with 2" or more expected along the higher terrain of the Cumberland Plateau.

Wednesday night lows will be in the 20s, so untreated roads will turn slippery this evening and tonight. Of course, areas that see accumulating snow should also expect difficult travel conditions.

Rutherford and Williamson county decided to close school Wednesday, along with others.  Check the latest school closings and delays at wkrn.com/closings.
