Geese found frozen to pond at Centennial Park adopted

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Two geese who were found frozen to a pond at Centennial Park last month have recovered and been adopted.

Wildlife officials used a kayak to get to the geese, whose feathers were covered in ice on Lake Watauga, which is adjacent to the Parthenon on January 8.

The geese were taken to Walden's Puddle where they recovered from the traumatic incident before being adopted.

Walden's Puddle reported the pair went to a good home where they will receive excellent care. They will spend their days on a pond and be brought inside at night.

Officials from the animal rescue previously told News 2 the geese are domesticated birds and they suspect they were dumped by their former owners.
