More than 250 soldiers returned to Fort Campbell Sunday morning after a year-long deployment in Afghanistan.
The soldiers arrived around 7:30 a.m., two days later than scheduled after their flight was delayed due to weather on Friday. Dozens of families gathered with homemade signs and cheers to welcome their loved ones home. For Katie Vintson, the homecoming couldn't have been any better. She was married just six months before her husband deployed.

Although the deployment was tough, the couple agrees their dedication made the day worth it.
"My job's done, and I've done my job over there with the 101st, so we're just ready to get back to life," her husband added.Troops spent their deployment assisting and training Afghanistan soldiers.
