NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Much colder air will be pushing into Middle Tennessee Sunday evening into Monday.

At the same time, low pressure will develop along the front bringing winter precipitation to the mid south.

At this time, the bulls eye seems to be southern Middle Tennessee, northern Mississippi, and northern Alabama.

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for those areas with the possibility of one to three inches of snow in south Middle Tennessee, and two to four inches of snow and sleet in north Mississippi and Alabama.

Travelers heading south down I-65 or I-24 (towards Monteagle) Monday afternoon-evening through Tuesday morning should be aware of possible treacherous driving conditions.

At this time, it appears that drier air will keep the precipitation south of Nashville, BUT that could change.  Some models show snow creeping northward closer to Nashville.
