Cold temps linger in Middle Tenn. as rain pushes out

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Heavy rains continue through at least Midnight in the Nashville area with one to two inches of rain likely before the system pulls away to the east overnight.

Drivers are urged to use caution on the roadways as many streets have ponding water.

Nashville is holding in the mid-30s as the rain continues, but it is closer to freezing to the northwest of Music City.

The far northwest corner of Middle Tennessee from Paris to Dover could see up to a half inch of ice which may trigger power problems in the area.

A quarter inch of ice is possible in Clarksville.

Another blast of colder air pushes into the Mid-State by daybreak with a possibility of a few stray snow flurries during the day.

Highs on Wednesday will reach the mid-30s.
