Funeral held for McGavock student killed in shooting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A high school student who was killed in a shooting at a Hermitage apartment complex last week was laid to rest on Tuesday.
 
Kevin Barbee was shot last Tuesday night at the Burning Tree Apartments by classmate Kaemon Robinson.

Police said Robinson, 17, was playing with the pistol when it discharged and struck Barbee in the face.

He is charged with criminal homicide.

Last Thursday, President Obama visited Kevin's family to offer his condolences prior to speaking to students at McGavock High School.

Barbee's service was held at the River Church in Donelson.
