A man was arrested on multiple animal cruelty charges after police responded to his home in reference to a foreclosure and found two dead dogs.
Authorities stated that when they arrived to the residence in the 3200 block of Mexico Drive in Bordeaux Monday, there were two dead puppies in a wire cage outside.
A second, badly malnourished puppy was later found.
The homeowner, 34-year-old Thaddeus Watkins, admitted the dogs were his.
According to an affidavit, he told police the one puppy died because he left it in the cold. He said the second puppy had worms so he was starving him to rid him of the worms.
Watkins was charged with two counts of aggravated animal cruelty and one count of animal cruelty.
His bond was set at $17,000.
