Murfreesboro firefighters rescue dog following crash
Firefighter Mike Meeks and Jack
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -
A Jack Russell terrier is lucky to be alive after he was involved in car crash over the weekend in Murfreesboro.
The dog, named Jack, was projected into the front windshield when the car he was riding in hit a power pole on Franklin Road around 7:30 a.m. Sunday.
Jack was found in the floorboard of the vehicle's front passenger side. It was obvious he was injured and would require immediate care. He had lacerations to his head and was unable to move his back legs.
Firefighters, not knowing the full extent of Jack's injuries, used extra precaution immobilizing him and removing him from the vehicle.
It was cold and raining, so Jack was wrapped up in a warm coat and taken to the 24-Hour Animal Medical Center on River Rock Boulevard.
Jack suffered a concussion but had no internal injuries. He was last listed in stable but serious condition.
