2 shootings possibly connected

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Two people were shot just late Thursday night, and police are trying to determine if the incidents are connected.

The first victim was shot in the ankle in the 1000 block of 2nd Avenue South around 10:30 p.m.

Multiple cars in the area were also struck by bullets.

The victim told police two suspects came up behind him and demanded his property.  He was shot in the left ankle while attempting to run.

Police were later called to Centennial Medical Center around 11:20 p.m. in regard to a separate shooting victim.

The man reported he was walking somewhere in north Nashville when a red or maroon Chevy Impala drove up and began shooting.

The victim said he ran from the scene, but realized he was shot in the knee.

Detectives are working to determine if the shooting victims are related to the same incident.
