Johnson City police searching for woman who took over $90,000 worth of jewelry from local store

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) -

Johnson City police are currently searching for a woman who reportedly took over $90,000 worth of jewelry from a local store Wednesday.

According to a Johnson City police news release, officers responded to a theft call at Dempsey’s Jeweler’s, 3108 Peoples Street, No. 100, around 11 a.m.

Witnesses said the woman, who took the jewelry, was white, with long, dark brown hair, approximately 5-foot-4. She then reportedly left the store and drove away in a small, white, new Toyota Camry.

The investigation into the theft is ongoing.
