U.S. mail containers spread across Firestone Parkway

Posted:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Large containers full of packages and envelopes were strewn in the middle of a south Nashville street early Tuesday morning.

Police blocked off portions of the middle of Firestone Parkway near the Rutherford County line early Tuesday morning to make drivers aware.

At least three containers were spread about for nearly 100 yards.

Officers told News 2 they are trying to determine if they came from a nearby US Postal Service facility or UPS distribution center.

The large containers appear to have fallen off the back of a truck and weigh so much they cannot be easily moved.

Police have posted an officer next to each container to warn motorists until they can determine who they belong to.
