NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A man was arrested after police investigated the distribution of synthetic liquid marijuana out of his east Nashville business.

Mohammad Amer, 40, is free on $40,000 bond after being charged with the delivery and distribution of counterfeit controlled substances and criminal simulation on Monday.

Police executed a search warrant at his store, Rum Wholesale, location at 1305 Dickerson Pike, and found 129 bottles of synthetic liquid marijuana.

They also found approximately 15,000 articles of counterfeit merchandise with various NFL team logos on them.

The raid of Rum Wholesale was a follow up to last week's padlocking of two Lebanon Pike businesses, First Discount Tobacco and Beer and the Dolphin Market Discount Tobacco and Beer.

Both businesses are accused of selling an illegal synthetic liquid that is designed to give e-cigarette users a high similar to that of marijuana.

The stores were declared public nuisances in temporary injunctions and ordered to be padlocked by a criminal court judge.

They remain closed pending further action.
