SUV catches fire on Highway 12

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

An SUV caught fire on Highway 12 in Ashland City early Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred before 4 a.m. near the intersection of Pecan Valley Road just over the Cheatham County line.

Firefighters arrived to find the car completely engulfed in flames.  It only took a few minutes to get them extinguished.

News 2 learned the vehicle was abandoned on the side of the road for several day with the driver's side window partially down.

The cause of the fire, however, has yet to be determined.

No injuries were reported.
