Posted: Updated: Jan 25, 2014 01:30 PM CST

President Barack Obama will visit a Nashville high school on Thursday to talk about education.

The White House announced the visit to McGavock High School on Saturday.

"I'm really excited.  It's really an honor.  It says, it shows how much we're really doing at McGavock," student body president Ronald Elliot said.

He continued, "They say I'm introducing him so I have to practice.  I'm nervous. I'm biting my nails.  It's going to be an honor."

The president's visit will come just two days after he delivers his annual State of the Union address.

The president also plans to visit Maryland, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin in the days after his address.

Obama was last in Tennessee in July when he spoke at an Amazon fulfillment center in Chattanooga.

First Lady Michelle Obama was in Nashville in May when she spoke at the Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet School.
