Wilson County's director of schools is no longer on the job.
In a special meeting Saturday, the school board approved the resignation and retirement of Dr. Timothy Setterlund
Setterlund recently became under fire after he admitted to having a beer before driving a county-issued vehicle.
He is not charged with any crime and got a retirement settlement of $78,000.
The board did not appoint an interim director, leaving the district in the hands of Setterlund's deputy administrators.
The board will hold a work session to find a permanent replacement on Saturday, February 1.
