U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander's former chief of staff, Ryan Loskarn, was found dead at a Maryland home Thursday just over a month after he was arrested for child pornography charges.
According to the Washington Post, the 35-year-old man hanged himself in the basement of his parents' home, where he had been allowed to live while he awaited trial on charges of possession and attempted distribution of child pornography.
Loskarn was also required to be electronically monitored while living at his parents Maryland home.
He was the chief of staff for Republican Senator Alexander for two years prior to being fired after his arrest.
Shortly after learning of Loskarn's passing Friday, Senator Alexander released a statement that read, "For everyone involved, this is a sad and tragic story from beginning to end."
