NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A carpet cleaner was found dead inside a Hermitage home Friday by a new renter.

The discovery was made at a home located in the 1000 block of Tulip Blossom Drive.

Police on the scene reported the home's new tenant stopped by the residence for a walk-through and discovered 37-year-old Al Batson Jr. dead on the floor.

According to police, Batson arrived at the home Thursday afternoon to clean the carpets and parked his work van inside the garage with the door closed.

Upon their arrival Friday, authorities said a generator inside the van that powered the cleaning system was still running.

It is believed Batson died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
