Nashville Zoo hosts 'Zoo Run Run' Saturday

Posted:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

The Nashville Zoo's annual 5K "Zoo Run Run" returns this Saturday with the theme "Run For Your Life."

The run will be celebrating the arrival of DinoTrek this spring, an exhibit that features life-size animatronic dinosaurs.

The race is expected to bring in an estimated 2,000 people on Saturday.

Participants will not only enjoy a walk or run along the zoo's pathways and back roads, but they can also dress up as a caveman or dinosaur for a Bedrock-themed costume party and take part in a post-run party featuring dinner, drinks and other activities.

All proceeds from Saturday's event will help fund zoo operations including education programs for children, feeding the animals and maintaining safety and cleanliness for visitors.

The Nashville Zoo will close to the public at 1 p.m. on Saturday to prepare for the day's activities.

Registration and check-in starts at 1:30 p.m. and the race will start at 3 p.m.

The zoo attracts more than 787,000 visitors each year
