NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

One man was taken into custody early Thursday morning after authorities attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle suspected in multiple recent break-ins.

An officer tried to stop the maroon truck near the intersection of Dodson Chapel Road and Old Hickory Boulevard around 1 a.m. in Davidson County.

The driver refused to stop, prompting another officer half a mile down the road to lay down spike strips.

The truck's passenger side tires blew out, but the driver continued on the rims through a neighborhood and onto Saundersville Road.

Police followed groove lines in the roadway to locate the vehicle, which was found in a yard near the intersection of Lakeridge and Twin Ridge drives in Wilson County.

The driver had already fled the scene into nearby woods.  He remains at large.

The passenger remained inside the vehicle and was apprehended without incident.

No arrests have been made.  The passenger remains in police custody for questioning.

Further details were not immediately released.
