Police: Woman tried to leave Walmart with $430 in merchandise

A woman was arrested for multiple charges after loss prevention officers at Walmart say they witnessed her trying to steal.

WGNS Radio reported Lee Jackson, 30, is accused of filling a cart with 69 items at the store on South Rutherford Boulevard in Murfreesboro and attempting to leave without paying.

Officers stated Jackson was stopped at the door by a loss prevention worker who discussed the alleged theft with her until police could arrive.

The merchandise amounted to $430.

Police then performed what is called a "probable cause" search of Jackson's purse, which revealed several syringes with drug residue on them.

Jackson reportedly had an outstanding warrant for her arrest as well.

She was booked and charged with failure to appear, theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.
