Frigid temperatures will continue across Middle Tennessee through the remainder of the work week.

Temperatures will plummet to 11 degrees in Nashville before reaching a high around 31 Wednesday.

Drivers are encouraged to drive with care as some slick spots are on the roadways in areas that saw snow on Tuesday.

Several Middle Tennessee counties, including Coffee, Robertson and Sumner, have canceled school for Wednesday due to minor snow accumulations and very cold temperatures.

At the Nashville International Airport, as many as 36 flights were projected to be canceled by Midnight.

One traveler Nashville's News 2 spoke with said he is forced to stay at an area hotel after his flight to Washington DC was canceled.

"I guess the storm just messed up everyone," Yazeed Khayyat said. "But it's snow. So what can you do?"

By Thursday and Friday, high temperatures will only reach the low 20s and will dip into the teens both nights.

Normal winter temperatures in the mid-40s will return to the Nashville area before another blast of cold air arrives next week.
