Fire destroys Ashland City home

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Tenn. -

A vacant home on the outskirts of Davidson County was destroyed by a fire early Monday morning.

Firefighters arrived to the home in the 4600 block of Bull Run Road in Ashland City and reported it had already been burning for at least an hour.

The roof was already gone and floor was begin to collapse, so crews began containing the fire as opposed to trying to extinguish it.

Officials stated the closest fire hydrants were a quarter of a mile away in one direction and three quarters of a mile in the other.

Two fire trucks were used to pour water onto the fire and a third was used to transport water to the scene.

No injuries were reported.

Neighbors told News 2 the house hadn't been vacant for long.
