Metro police are searching for an armed robber who called ahead before robbing a Madison GameStop store on Wednesday.
Police said the suspect called and reserved an Xbox One and some video games just before the GameStop at 2086 Gallatin Pike North near Rivergate Mall opened.
He reportedly told the clerk he was buying the items for a kid.
The suspect then robbed the GameStop at gunpoint just after it opened. He stole the Xbox One and $600. He also stole NBA 2K14, Just Dance 2014 and Call of Duty Ghosts for Xbox One.
"It shows the individual had a premeditation to create this violent occurrence by pulling the hand gun out on the clerk," Metro police Detective Lt. Curtis Watkins said. "He wanted to get out as soon as possible. He knew what he wanted and he had a plan."
A few doors down from the GameStop, Next Level Games store has been on alert since hearing about the robbery.
The store does not carry electronic games, but has a wide variety of card games.
"There is always concern about robbery," owner Donny Noland said. "But, we have great presence and we have never had a problem."
He continued, "It is unfortunate but in this day and age it happens."
Surveillance footage showed the suspect arriving in the parking lot of the GameStop around 8 a.m. Wednesday.
He waited in the parking lot for around two hours before the robbery.
The suspect is described as a black male, around five feet, eight inches tall between 200 and 250 pounds. He is between 20 and 30 years old.
He wore a ski mask, but some facial hair was visible under his mask.
Video showed the man driving a later model gray Nissan Versa.
