SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. -

A 22-year-old mother is charged with aggravated assault after her newborn son tested positive for drugs.

Jamie Ryan was taken into police custody on Tuesday, the Shelbyville Times-Gazette reported.

The newspaper reported tests showed Benodiazepine, opiate and amphetamines were in the baby boy's system.

He is being treated for withdrawal symptoms.

Ryan was previously arrested on drug charges on two other occasions.

She has since been released on a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court January 29.
