Florida murder suspect caught in abandoned Tenn. cabin

A man wanted in connection to a murder in Florida was captured in an abandoned cabin in east Tennessee.

Our sister station WATE-TV reported James Quilliams, 40, was arrested just after Midnight Thursday in Sevier County.

Officials reportedly got a tip from a concerned citizen, which ultimately led them to Quilliams' location.

He is currently being held at the Sevier County jail awaiting extradition to Florida where authorities have accused him of murdering his girlfriend, Teresa Compton.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Compton, 48, was found dead of upper body trauma in the couple's home Monday after neighbors noticed what appeared to be blood on the pavement.

Deputies stated it was obvious Compton died under suspicious means.
