Spring Hill shooting ruled attempted murder-suicide

SPRING HILL, Tenn. -

Police in Spring Hill have ruled a shooting last November an attempted murder-suicide.

Investigators say Robert Land, 63, shot his wife Sue several times on the morning of November 13 before turning the gun on himself.

Sue Land, 60, managed to call 911 and responding officers found the couple in the master bedroom of their Fremantle Circle home.

Sue Land was still alive and taken by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

Robert Land was pronounced dead at the scene of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Spring Hill police declined to release any additional information citing the ongoing investigation but said detectives learned Robert Land was being investigated by his employer for inappropriate use of his government computer prior to his death.
