Man escapes Williamson County house fire with pets

FRANKLIN, Tenn. -

A Williamson County man escaped his burning home with the family's pets Wednesday morning.

The man awoke around 7:15 a.m. to find a couch in his home located in the 900 block of Yearling Way in the Horseshoe Bend subdivision near the Davidson County line on fire.

Williamson County Fire Coordinator Jay Bonson told News 2 the homeowner grabbed his pets and escaped without injury.

His wife, daughter and son were not home at the time.

The home suffered significant damage in the back, including the living space and garage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
