NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A student at Belmont University won free tuition for an entire semester for the second time during his college career.

J.T. Faircloth, a self-proclaimed Belmont "super fan," made a half-court shot during a contest Saturday.

"As soon as I made it, my mom just exploded with joy and ran down from the stands and joined us on the court," he told News 2.

"My Dad wanted to protect her purse, but he told me he was like, ‘I can't believe he made that!' He was so happy and proud," he continued.

The half-court won him his second free semester of tuition at Belmont, amounting to nearly $13,000.

J.T.'s first win was in February 2012 when he sunk a 3-point shot during another contest.

A junior corporate communications major, he also acts as Belmont's mascot, Bruiser.
