Driver killed in fiery Williamson County crash

THOMPSON'S STATION, Tenn. -

A Franklin man was killed after his car veered off the road and caught fire early Thursday morning in Thompson's Station.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Brian Johnson was traveling east on Harpeth-Peytonsville Road around 5:30 a.m. when he lost control and ran off the road near Herbert Smithson Road.

His vehicle, a 1993 Honda Accord, struck a culvert and went airborne.

The car then struck a utility pole, rolled several times and caught fire.

Johnson, 35, died at the scene.

The THP said he was not wearing a seatbelt.

No other vehicles were involved.
