DYERSBURG, Tenn. -

A man from Moscow, Tennessee was arrested after he allegedly tried to steal a board game then attempted to avert police by turning his jacket inside out.

The State Gazetted reported the incident began at the Walmart in Dyersburg Sunday afternoon where police say Tempton Land, 41, tried to conceal a board game before exiting the store.

Loss prevention officers confronted Land at the store's entrance.  Land allegedly grabbed the officer and drove him backwards 10 feet into the doors.

The officer struck the sliding doors with such impact that they were knocked off the tracks.

Land was able to escape on foot without the game, valued at $13.87, but was located not far from the business in a restaurant's parking lot.

Authorities reported Land had turned his jacket inside out, but loss prevention officers from Walmart were still able to positively identify him.

He remains in jail on a $1,000 bond.
