MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -

A Murfreesboro mother is continuing to search for her adoptive daughter who has been missing since April.

Zahnaee Chaney walked away from her home after a visit with her biological family on April 8.

"This is a big world," Kendra Chaney previously told Nashville's News 2. "I really don't know where she is and I just want to get her back."

Kendra said she believes Zahnaee, now 16, could be in the Nashville area with her biological family.

Chaney's adoptive parents have been in contact with her biological family, but they said she is not with them.

Chaney is five feet, 10 inches tall and 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen in the Cason Lane area of Murfreesboro wearing jeans, sandals, a black shirt and ball cap. She also had on pink rimmed glasses.

Anyone with information about Chaney's whereabouts should contact the Murfreesboro Police Department at 615-849-2670.
