Police warn of ice patches on Nashville roadways

Posted:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Some Nashville roadways have dangerous patches of ice that police are warning motorists about until conditions improve.

A water main broke on Thompson Lane between Street Louise and Nolensville Pike.

Metro Water repaired the leak, but the road is very slippery.  Crews salted the area, but it could easily re-freeze.

The exit ramp from Interstate 440E onto Nolensville Pike has a portion of thick slush and ice on the ramp.

Authorities have requested Metro Public Works salt the area, but are warning drivers who might be in the area before it is completed.

Police are also blocking off a portion of Bell Road after an accident occurred due to ice in the 1100 block.  One lane of Bell is currently blocked off.
