NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

The Tennessee Department of Transportation is bringing a nationwide program to the state.

The Yellow DOT program aims to provide first responders with an individual's medical information in case of an emergency or accident.

Participants in the program receive a yellow decal and yellow folder containing medical information and a personalized photo.

The folder is to be stored inside the glove compartment and the decal is to be placed on the rear window of their vehicle, notifying emergency crews medical information is inside.

The campaign official kicks off Wednesday at 10 a.m.
