A man accused of dealing cocaine and ramming into a police car in south Nashville last week is due in court Thursday.
Charles Bell, 23, is currently jailed in lieu of $125,000 bond on charges of possessing cocaine for resale, felony marijuana possession, carrying a gun in the commission of a dangerous felony, aggravated assault on an officer, evading arrest and driving without a license.
Police say Bell saw officers closing in on him last Friday on Tampa Drive, so he attempted to take off.
He slammed his vehicle into the police cruiser, jumped out and ran. He was captured after a brief foot chase.
Bell reportedly had 85 grams of cocaine, 8.5 grams of marijuana and a .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol.
Authorities stated Bell admitted he had come to Tampa Drive to sell cocaine and was carrying the gun to defend himself in case he was robbed.
