NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A man entered his apartment and was confronted by two masked robbers early Monday morning in Antioch.

The victim told police a struggle ensued around 3:45 a.m. inside his apartment at the Pinnacle Pointe Apartments located at 2900 Baby Ruth Lane.

During the struggle, the victim was reportedly pistol-whipped, causing minor injuries to his face.

The two suspects took personal belongings from the man and fled in an unknown direction.

Police stated the suspects gained entry by prying open a locked door.

Just a few hours after the violent home invasion occurred in the southeast Nashville subdivision, residents told News 2 they are not only shocked about the incident, but are questioning just how safe their community really is.

"That's scary that it could happen right here because that could have been me. That could have been any one of us," said concerned resident Jerome Edmeade.

With these alleged intruders on the loose, many residents like Nellie Reyes are concerned for their safety.

"I have three kids and I'm pregnant and most of the times I'm by myself so now I think we're going to take extra precaution," said Reyes.

One suspect is described as a six foot tall black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black ski mask, blue jeans. He was armed with a silver handgun.

The second suspect is described as a five foot, eight inch tall black male wearing a black coat, black mask and brown boots. He was also armed with a handgun.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information should call Metro police or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
