Woman shot after arguing with man inside car

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A 24-year-old woman was shot in the ankle after having an argument with a man inside his car.

It happened just before Midnight in front of the Werthan Lofts on Rosa Parks Boulevard in Germantown after the woman accepted a ride from the man.

The victim said she was walking down the street when the man asked her if she wanted a ride.  She accepted, but down the road, wanted to get out.

She told police there was an argument and she was shot in her ankle.

The woman was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect drove away following the shooting.

He is described as a heavy set black male between the ages of 25 and 35.  He is approximately six feet tall and weighs around 240 pounds.

The man was wearing a blue hat and driving a green Chrysler 300.

Metro police added the victim has an extensive arrest history in Nashville and she was not a resident of the neighborhood where the shooting took place.
