Lipscomb University has decided to delay the start of the spring semester until Wednesday due to the extremely cold temperatures forecasted for Nashville and surrounding areas.Initially students were scheduled to return to class on Monday. Due to the possibility of limited utilities, students who live on campus are asked not to return to their doors until they receive official notification, which is expected by late Tuesday. For those students who have already returned to campus or who cannot change their travel plans, school officials have taken action to have alternatives if utilities are limited. University offices will observe normal working hours Monday and Tuesday. All university support services, including food services will follow normal schedules. Monday's basketball game scheduled at 5 p.m. will be played as scheduled.
Metro Nashville Public Schools also delayed the start of spring semester due to the extremely cold temperatures. Students will return to class on Wednesday.
