NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A winning Mega Millions ticket worth $61 million was sold at the Shell station on Old Harding Pike in Bellevue, Tennessee Lottery officials confirmed Tuesday morning.

Bharat Kabaria co-owns the Shell and told News 2 Monday he thought it was his store all along.

"There [are] lots of rumors going around, but somewhere in my heart, I think we sold it," Kabaria told News 2 Monday.

Kabaria said lottery officials visited his store on Saturday, the day they announced the winning ticket drawn on Friday had come from a store in Bellevue, about 20 minutes west of Nashville.

"They were not telling exactly why they were here, but we never usually see that many people from the lottery so we knew something was going on," he continued.

The payout from the ticket will be the largest ever rewarded in Tennessee. The holder of the winning ticket has not come forward.

Steve Martin works at the Corner Bar on nearby Highway 100.

He told News 2 Monday, "Yeah it's the talk of everyone around here because everybody knows everybody in Bellevue."

His co-worker Becca Jones added, "Everyone [is] trying to figure out who it is, hoping we know who it is."

Both Martin and Jones hope the winner is someone from the Bellevue area, rather than someone who was just passing through and bought a ticket.

Martin said he usually plays Mega Millions but did not purchase a ticket last week.

Neither had heard from anyone claiming to be the winner.

"It's probably someone who did not show up today for work today," they both laughed.

Kabaria also hopes it's someone from the Bellevue area, or at least someone in Tennessee.

"I will be happy if someone from Tennessee wins it, because tax money stays in Tennessee," he said.

Kabaria's store will get $25,000 for selling the winning ticket.
