NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Metro schools are delaying the start of the spring semester by one day due to forecasted single-digit temperatures.

Students will now report to school on Wednesday, January 8 for the first day of the new semester.

Very, very cold air is expected to move into Middle Tennessee Sunday night and stick around through the middle of next week.

Daytime highs Monday and Tuesday may only reach into the single digits with lows close to zero.

In addition to the cold, the Nashville area could see an inch or two of snow by Sunday night.
