The list of Tennessee's top baby names was just released Thursday, but in Nashville, there's one name in particular that's not on the list and making news in Iowa.
A couple who gave birth to Des Moines' first baby of the New Year decided to name him after Music City.
Lance and Christine Eddie welcomed son Nash David into the world at 12:17 a.m. on January 1, 2014.
The couple says the name Nash was inspired by Nashville, where they traveled for their first road trip together in 2010.
The news coverage of baby Nash's arrival attracted the attention of Butch Spyridon, president and CEO of the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation.
He's showering the couple with Nashville-themed gifts, including a CD with music from the TV show "Nashville," a guitar-shaped chocolate bar, the "Lisa Loeb's Silly Singalong" children's book and a four-foot-tall stuffed Gnash – the Nashville Predators hockey team mascot.
Spyridon told The Tennessean when the Eddies bring Nash for a visit they'll also get free passes to local attractions.
